If you’re looking for easy goals to set for yourself that you can actually achieve by the end of 2024, you are in the right spot! As each month commences, I am one who loves to reflect on my results as well as new goals I can set for myself. I am sure many of you reading this feel the same. However, the more we achieve, the harder it can be to gain inspiration for goal setting.
However, not only can goals be hard to come up with, but it can be hard to think of goals that don’t only revolve around the gym or reading more. Although those are great goals to set, I am sure you have already thought of those.
Whether you decide to start setting goals in January, or December, I hope that this list of ideas helps you with your inspiration to thrive. This list has been put together to inspire you with goal ideas that are easy to achieve and will hopefully upgrade your life!

Achievable and easy goals to upgrade your life
Social goals
1. Check in on one friend per week to keep in touch.
Many of us can forget to check and see how our friends are doing. However, if you have a large quantity of friends, this can be even harder. Making it a goal to check in via text with one friend a week to see how they’re doing will not only make your friends feel special, but it will keep the bond close.
2. Make a new friend.
Although making friends can be intimidating and even seem hard, it’s necessary! Friends are a gateway to awesome memories as well as a life of fun and opportunity. In order to make new friends I would suggest saying, “hi” to those at the grocery store, complimenting others, or just asking your mutual to hang out!
3. Join a class or club of interest to you.
Whether your class or club of choice is a book club or, Pilates class, or pottery class, join it! However, if you’ve been eyeing a class or club for a while now, this is your sign to go sign up for it. Joining a class or a club can make it easier to meet new people or even just experience something new.
4. Weekly date nights.
Fourthly, date nights! These are so important to spend some quality time with your partner. However, if you’re single (or in a relationship), having a solo date night is just as important.
5. Hang out with your friends or family members a couple times a month.
This is a goal I am sure we can all get better at, myself specifically! Although life can get busy, it is never too busy to spend time with family and friends. Setting aside a couple days out of the month on your calendar to meet up with your loved ones is great for easy goals to achieve.
6. One act of kindness a day
Although an act of kindness a day may seem hard to achieve as someone who is often at home, there are so many ways to do so.
For example, sending your friend a Venmo for their morning coffee or posting a kind comment on your best friend’s post works perfectly. Lastly, you could also help a neighbor bring in their groceries or jump start their car. However the opportunity presents itself, make sure you take it once a day to spread some kindness!
7. Say how you feel more often
Saying how you feel is important, however, maybe more so in the nicest way you can. I made this a goal because as an example, I often find myself thinking how pretty someone looks, but not saying it.
With that said, it is equally important to say the harder things to say as well. This is a total life upgrade for easy goals as it enhances all the relationships around you!
Financial goals
8. Learn how to budget.
Although learning how to budget is intimidating, it is much easier than it seems. Whether you are rich or not, understanding your finances is incredibly important. Even using something as simple as a budget planner can help you achieve this for easy goals.

9. Start using cash back apps.
If you’re not already using cash back apps, you’re missing out on so many extra savings! Using an app such as Ibotta allows for earning cash back. Ibotta is my favorite app for this as it allows me to earn money back on items I purchase frequently. Apps like this are crucial for saving money on groceries!

10. Learn about investing.
Regardless of how old you are, investing is a crucial part of retirement in America. With that said, it is super important everyone learns how to invest. Easy ways to learn are simply starting with Youtube, or if you have it, Linkedin learning!
11. Start a savings account.
Starting a savings account is important, however, a high yield savings account is even better. I am sure you have heard plenty about these lately but they truly are amazing for upgrading your finances. I currently use a Discover savings account however there are so many options you should research and look into.
12. Find three ways you can save money this year.
Learning how to budget is a large part of this, however, this is great for easy goals. If you find yourself spending lots of money on non-necessities, this may be a great goal for you. Reviewing your expenses and taking action is important.
For example, I noticed I spent a lot of money on my groceries. Although groceries are a necessity there are so many ways to cut down so that you are not spending hundreds a week. I also, truly, use apps like Ibotta to save on my toiletries and other grocery items. So, however this works for you will likely upgrade your life!
13. Identify and stop your bad money habits
If you are habitually making bad money habits, this one is great for changing that. Although it can be hard to change a habit, using a habit tracker to help motivate you is useful.

14. Start an emergency fund
Having an emergency fund for unexpected expenses is important! Accidents happen and it is always helpful having an extra cushion to depend on rather than taking from your paycheck to do so. Many people use cash envelopes for these to prepare for small or large expenses.
Academic goals
15. Find a new hobby to learn.
Having and finding new hobbies is so important. An example of learning a new hobby would be going to a sewing class or a baking class.
One of the hobbies I plan on starting for myself this year is learning how to knit. Starting with something as simple as knitting blankets is a great way to achieve a goal as well as learn something new.
16. Spend 1 hour a week to learn something new.
Learning something new can seem unattainable at times however, spending only an hour a week will get the job done. Although only studying for an hour out of a week may seem like it takes too long to achieve the end goal, it’s a great starting point.
So, whether you’re learning how to start your own business or simply just how to build something, it is a great and achievable goal.
17. Spend 10 minutes a day learning a new language.
Whether you use language learning books, practice with your fluent friend, or use Duolingo, learning a language is a productive goal to have. Keeping your goal at ten minutes a day is completely achievable and easy to do as well.
18. Set a reading goal for non-fiction books.
Although non-fiction books are great for entertainment purposes, they are also great for learning and expanding our vocabulary. This inevitably helps us upgrade our lives! Setting an attainable, specific to you reading goal is great for setting easy goals.
19. Search for a random fact a day.
Googling a random fact a day or even getting a random fact book will always help with our learning. Whether it is learning something happening in the world today or something entirely random, the more you know the better.
Easy goals: mental health
20. Less screen time.
It is too easy these days to spend too much unproductive time scrolling on our phones. However, if we set goals to decrease our screen time we can use that time for accomplishing better things this year! This is great for easy goals that will upgrade your life this year.
21. Try out meditation.
Although meditating may not be for everyone, it is worth a try. Not only that, but it is so easy to start and set goals with. Whether you meditate in the sauna after your workout or earlier in the morning, it is worth trying out to calm you down. There are many benefits to meditating that may work for you and your personal goals!
22. Journal 3 times a week.
Writing in a journal can be a tedious but rewarding task. This goal is great for learning more about yourself and those around you as writing in a journal allows for the ultimate amount of reflection. However, if you’re looking for journal prompt ideas, click here!
23. Identify and cut out toxic habits.
Identifying and cutting out toxic habits may seem like a difficult task, however if you sit down and make the time for it, it is great for easy goals. Identifying toxic habits can be as simple as realizing what may be ruining your moods or productivity.
24. Follow a habit tracker.
This goal works great with the above goal. Following a habit tracker is a great feeling as you’re checking off boxes when doing or not doing a good or bad habit. This is a great way to track your accomplishments as well as keep yourself on track.
Easy goals: physical health
25. Cook at home.
Cooking at home is great for easy goals. Not only does it allow for healthier food options, but it ensures you know exactly what is getting put in your food.
26. Set workout goals for each week.
Working out can be a huge challenge. However, setting achievable goals that work best for you is key to upgrading your life and your physical fitness. So, if you need to start at only 3 workouts a week, then just know that, that is a great place to start. Incorporating light or more challenging workouts is a workout regardless.
27. Set a daily step goal.
Many of us completely disregard getting our steps in for the day. However, it is much easier to do than it may seem. It takes just about ten minutes to get 1,000 steps of walking in (for the most part), so taking a few ten minute walks a day is great for you. With that said, setting a goal is perfect for you and your routine is ideal for attaining easy goals this year.
I often set a daily step goal of 8,000-10,000 depending on if I have a workout that day. Using my Apple watch makes it so much easier to track those workouts and steps as well.
28. Meal prep.
Meal prepping is a great and easy way to upgrade your life. Not only does it save time on cooking everyday, but it allows for healthier choices. If you cook out your meals for the next few days and choose something healthy, then even when you’re craving something unhealthy, all you’ll have is what you prepped. It’s perfect for achievable easy goals.
29. Add vegetables to one meal a day.
Vegetables have so many benefits to them and are absolute easy goals! If you’re super bad at eating your vegetables, adding them to at least one meal a day is a great place to start.
