How Can I Do My Manicure at Home?
If you are familiar with my nail inspiration blogs, more of which you can find here, you know we need to start with the basics. Learning how to do your manicure at home can be incredibly helpful, but also not helpful if you can’t perfect the base of your nail. These next few steps will help keep your nails lasting a long time regardless of if you decide to use gel or press on nails at home!
Step 1: Buff out your nails.
Using a nail file and nail buffer, make sure the surface of your nails are super even. Here are some tools you can use for this important step.
These are a lot stronger than using a typical nail buffer and file. With that said, it is also what they use at the nail salon to get a quick and even surface for our nails. They last a long time and are so crucial to keeping your manicure on point.
If using a nail drill is too intimidating to start off, these will work perfect. Especially for having simple nails, these will work just fine.
Step 2: Remove Cuticles
In order for your nails to last, removing your cuticles is important! This helps prevent lifting or your nails popping off.
Step 3: Dry and Prime Your Nails
Lastly, dry and prime your nails to avoid oily skin ruining the adhesive.
Halloween Nails Inspiration!
Pumpkin Designs
When I think of pumpkins, I think of Halloween! Pumpkins are such a common Halloween theme and it is only right to try them out as a nail design this season. Target and Amazon have so many cool press on designs so you are able to skip long waits at the nail salon or tedious drawing of nail art on your own.
Spider Web Designs
Spider webs and spiders can make for a great plot in some scary movies and themes. Spiders are a fear of many and make for a cute and spooky design for Halloween nails. The best part about spider and spider web designs, is that they can be made subtle, extravagant, or spooky!
Ghost Nails
Ghosts absolutely fit the spooky theme for Halloween nails. Ghosts are scary, but also a fun Halloween theme many people follow. There are many ways to incorporate ghostly designs in to nails however here are some of my favorite finds for the season!
Witch Nails
Witches are the perfect Halloween costume, so why not have nails to match the eerie feel of the outfit? If you have plans to dress as a witch this holiday, here are some press ons you can pop on that will fit the vibe of your costume.
