I am sure every now and then many of us have the urge to find ways to make life better. If so, you’re in the right place.
Many of us come to the realization many times in our lives that life could be so much better! When that urge comes it is likely you write a list of things you want to start doing and begin to envision a new life for yourself. However, sticking to those motivating goals is the most important part. With that said, there are small things you can do every day that will make life so much better!
Although finding the motivation to do these tasks may feel exciting, keep in mind being patient with yourself and your progress is key! Change does not happen over night, but consistency will help you get there!
Everyone has a different meaning and definition of what a better life looks like, however, these tips have done wonders for making my life better!

How to Make Life Better!
1. Start journaling
This seems like a tedious task, however, it is so important!
Setting a journal goal for yourself is a great starting point. For example, I like to journal three times a week. Finding the perfect number of times will make this task much easier to do and set time aside for it. Therefore, the value in doing this will be much more apparent.
I find that journaling helps me understand myself and how I process and perceive emotions better. If you’re someone who speaks before thinking, or is going through so many life changes, this may be especially good for you when it comes to learning how to make life better! There are so many life changes that journaling can get you through.

2. Find new hobbies
Finding new hobbies is a great way to find pleasure in the simple things in life! It is so easy to get caught up in your regular routine and work. However, it is just as important to branch out and try new things.
Searching for new hobbies could look like attending a cooking class, a fitness class, even an artsy class. It could be trying out knitting, or learning about something new!
However you decide to implement new hobbies in your life is your choice. However, it is likely it will help improve your life once you find something you genuinely enjoy. Having the simple hobbies in life that you know bring you joy is key to a better life.
3. Focus on self care
Self care is so important however it is often neglected. Self care can consist of many things, but typically will always make life better when you decide to focus on it.
This can be a nice warm bath, face masks, getting your nails done, or even finding time to read your favorite book.
If you’re taking care of yourself, the easier it will be to pour into other areas of your life. So, ensure you make the time for taking care of yourself as much as you need to throughout your weeks. As you do so, I am sure you will watch your relationships, friendships, and life flourish!
4. Move your body more
Exercise even if only 30 minutes a day has long and short term benefits. Many of us consider working out only to look better. However, not only does working out help with our looks, but so much more.
Exercise is a great way to release stress, help your health, and so much more!
With that said, exercise can be intimidating and even feel like a chore. The hardest part at times is just starting or getting there. However, it doesn’t have to be too difficult. Starting off with simple YouTube workouts or even Yoga is a great start and your body will thank you for it!
5. Read self development books
Self development books are so popular these days for a reason. This genre of books can help spark inspiration and ideas to implement in your life that you may never have thought of on your own.
From establishing the perfect 5 am morning routine to being more mindful, there are so many self development books that can help you make life better.
With that said, if reading isn’t your thing, audio books are also widely available for this genre as well.
6. Learn your boundaries
If you’re someone who finds themselves taking on too much emotional bandwidth, saying yes to more work when your schedule is already full, or simply overdoing it, this one is for you! Learning boundaries can be as simple as learning how to say, “no.”
With that said, boundaries present themselves in different ways to different people. However, learning what they look like for you is an important factor to improving your life for the better! Your future self will thank you for a more balanced and peaceful life.
The hardest part about establishing boundaries can be understanding others reactions. However, in the long term yourself and your relationships will begin to thrive off of this mutual understanding.
7. Make plans with your loved ones!
Making plans with the people we love, although fulfilling, can be tedious. Life can be so busy we often forget to make this a priority. However, it is so important to find ways to keep the people you love in your regular schedule.
Simply making it a habit to meet with your loved ones even if it’s just twice a month can be so gratifying. Yes, this makes life better! Reliving old memories, catching up, venting to one another, is a great part of distressing in life.
8. Go to therapy
Therapy and journaling can go hand in hand more often than not. However, being able to have someone to vent to or walk through things with is crucial to making life better.
Therapy allows for us to handle real life situations so much better and actually commit to living a better life. Although therapy can be expensive, and is often considered a luxury, if you’re able to add this to your schedule, do it!
